With all the stress that students have piled on from sports, academics, and personal lives, it’s a good idea to put stress aside once in a while and watch a TV series; an ideal way to destress, relax and enjoy. Here are a few recommendations to help you decide:
- All of Us are Dead
A Korean show about teenagers who strive to survive in a Zombie outbreak at school, this show is filled with action, emotion, and horror that will pull at your heartstrings. Beware that this show does lean on the more graphic side but it’s a great series to get your heart racing.
- Too Hot To Handle
A reality TV show set to nurture romance and build true emotional connections within a group of young adults, this series can serve as an easy watch or a background show that you don’t need to focus fully on.
- The Good Doctor
If you like medical shows, then this one’s for you! Revolving around the challenges and obstacles faced by an autistic man as he tries to become a surgeon and prove his worth to his colleagues, this show will have you invested in and experience all sorts of emotions.
- Chicago Med
Another one for the medical show fans, this series focuses on the lives of the doctors and surgeons in the ER and their daily struggles to rescue and treat patients with all sorts of conditions.
- Queen of the South
If you like shows similar to ‘Narcos,’ then this should definitely be on your watch list. Not only does it stress the empowerment of a female character, but it also has a lot of action scenes and dramatic twists that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat!
- Taxi Driver
The perfect show for watchers who get bored easily, Taxi Driver is an unconventional show featuring a squad of people who act as vigilantes and catch criminals for revenge, but the twist? They pose as a Taxi driving company. This is an unmissable series for fight scene lovers!
- Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer
Inclining away from the dramatic side of TV shows, this is a documentary of an infamous serial killer Richard Ramirez, also known as the Night Stalker. This is a great show to listen to while you can do other things, such as draw, paint, clean your room, cook, etc as you don’t have to necessarily be watching the whole time and can just listen.
- Don’t F*ck with Cats
Another documentary to add on is Don’t F*ck with Cats. Already titled with an interesting name, this show describes how fellow Facebook users helped catch and identify a murderer on the loose. It does deal with graphic content, so this is a disclaimer that this isn’t the show to watch if you get scared easily!
- Alice in Borderland
If you liked the popular ‘Squid Game’, you’ll probably want to give this one a shot. A Japanese TV show, featuring teens who get pulled into an alternate reality where they have to play “games” to survive, is similar to the concepts and themes dealt with in Squid Game and contains many scenes that will make you filled with adrenaline and excitement. However, the games do have a different twist.
- The Uncanny Counter
Last but definitely not least, The Uncanny Counter is a great show for teens who like action and mystery. A story of demon hunters posing as noodle shop workers to catch and hunt evil spirits, this series also has scenes that will make you laugh and cry.
